About Jarrett

I studied business, agriculture, and construction at Parkland College. After obtaining my associate degree, I studied at Eastern Illinois University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Development with a focus on training programs and nonprofits. In addition to my college education, I completed an IBEW electrical apprenticeship and am a Journeyman Electrician.

I have used my education and experience to assist many different community organizations in the 104th. I sit on the investment committees of two large retirement boards and chair a health insurance board covering over 27,000 participants. I was chairman of the Champaign-Urbana Joint Electrical Apprenticeship Committee, am Vice-President of the East Central Illinois Construction and Building Trades Council, and have served on the Champaign County Workforce Innovation Board for eight years. Serving as a board member on a wide variety of community organizations has allowed me to advocate for business, labor, and workforce development.

I was born and raised in Champaign County, and I am committed to raising my children here. I live on our family farm with my wife, daughter, and son. My wife is a rural veterinarian. Together, we raise livestock and hay on our farm. I also work with my father, uncle, and brother to produce row crops and raise livestock. My children will continue the Clem family tradition of raising and showing livestock at the local county fairs.

In addition to being a farmer, I am an electrician and the Business Manager for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 601. I completed a five-year electrical apprenticeship and became a Journeyman Electrician. I have worked on many construction projects across central Illinois, including the Lasalle nuclear generating plant and large projects on the University of Illinois campus. I have worked in the Local 601’s office for eight years and have been the Business Manager since 2019.

I am committed to using my unique background as a farmer, community advocate, and electrician to get results for the 104th district in Springfield.
